The Vaccine Race

Hello everyone,

We should proud of being an Indian always. But it's the proudest moment for all of us that, India's three vaccines are going through human trials phase II and III.

I was chatting with my friend about this vaccine topic when I wrote the blog on Russian Vaccine. We were discussing about how every developed country is tirelessly working to make the vaccine and most countries fighting against the virus. He suggested that, there was an era when space race was held between Russia and America. They both were trying hard to get to the space and to the moon. By landing on the moon, America effectively won the space race. Due to coronavirus, a new contest between these developed countries has been erupted. He coined the word for it, Vaccine Race.

The first candidate vaccine, Covaxin has been developed by Bharat BioTech, Indian Council For Medical Research (ICMR), and the National Institute of Virology (NIV).

When will we get the vaccine?

PM answered that, as the scientists will approve the vaccine, mass production will be set and all preparation has been done for that. 

Modi compared our scientists to the ancient rushi munis. Those rushi munis were experts of any disease and can eradicate any disease in just a moment or two. He compared our scientists to rushi munis.

What will be the price?

This criteria is most important because our India is middle income country. Most of families are middle class and cannot afford high price vaccine doses. 

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has offered funding of $150 million to provide the vaccine in India and many other low income countries. 

The Pune firm has agreed to charge $3 per two vaccines of CoVID-19. As the vaccine by Oxford, the chief executive officer of Serum Institute of India, Mr. Adar Poonawalla stated, the vaccine will be available under 1000 rupees per dose.

However, a single dose won't work for any vaccine so, multiple or two doses will be necessary for the vaccine. So, the budget will move upwards for the families with poor background. 

Who will get the doses first?

The answer is, those who are working as corona warriors will be the first ones to be vaccinated. After that, it will be availed to the public. 

India is getting the identity in the whole world. It is changing itself and becoming more and more powerful day by day. We should be proud of that. The whole world, especially developed countries, are right now in the race of developing a vaccine. Every country wants to mark their presence by giving an effective vaccine, that works absolutely fine with no or least side effects.

After all this, we have made it up to here. We are once again, possibly going to give the world something valuable which will increase the importance of India in the whole world. 

Conclusion: India is a country that has powerful minds with expert scientists. India can produce whatever it wants. But the main resistance is that there is no value and appreciation for those powerful minds. So, they just went to foreign countries and give their best to them. Now, everything has been changed. We are now started to appreciate those powerful minds and we're getting the benefits of that. We're near to mark our country in the Vaccine Race.
