Tesla enters India via Bengaluru, Karnataka
Hello everyone,
In India, most have vehicles and we all know that the fuel
price is way out of control and still increasing. Every vehicle owner needs to
visit petrol pumps now and then. We have left with no option except visiting
the petrol pumps. But let me tell you that you won’t have to visit the petrol pumps again if you can buy a car worth 50+ lakh price. Just kidding, but this
was just a preface to start this article and to inform the entry of Tesla in
India.
Tesla is an Electric Cars, Solar and Clean Energy company
which manufactures ‘Tesla Cars’ (electric cars) and don’t need fuels
like Petrol or Diesel. It also has the feature of an Auto-Pilot mode. You can
sleep or read a newspaper while driving and no traffic police will give you a
memo or fine. As this image is awesome but the reality lies somewhere very far.
Tesla Entry in India
Tesla had earlier announced to enter India and the Indian
market in 2016-17 but couldn’t make it. This time Tesla has entered India by
registering a company named “Tesla India Motors and Energy Pvt. Ltd.”
Initially, Tesla was given five options to open the power plants in the major
cities of different states. Those five options included Gujarat, Maharashtra,
Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. Out of these five options Tesla
chose Karnataka and entered India through its Indian entity Tesla India in
Bengaluru.
Address: 14th Floor, SKAV 909, Lavelle Road, Bengaluru, Bangalore, Karnataka.
Karnataka CM B.S. Yediyurappa informed via Twitter that Tesla will soon start its operations in India with an R&D (Research and Development) unit in Bengaluru. However, he deleted the post after a few hours. Tesla will establish its R&D base unit in India.
Tesla has appointed three directors to its Indian entity
Tesla India. Vaibhav Taneja, Venkatrangam Sreeram, and David Jon Feinstein are
recruited as the directors of Tesla India. David is the global senior director
of Tesla Inc. and Vaibhav Taneja the Chief accounting officer. Mr. Venkatrangam Sreeram is a
start-up entrepreneur in Bengaluru.
Now, let’s talk about the Tesla electric car that is going
to be launch in India. Tesla is going to enter the Indian market by launching
its cheapest electric car first, Model-3 in India. There are four models of
this electric car. Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y.

The expected price of the Tesla sedan Model-3 is 60 lakh
INR. The expected launch is in March 2021. Tesla Model-S is expected to be
launch in July 2021 with an expected price of 1.50 crore INR whereas Tesla
Model X is expected to be launch in January 2022 with an expected price of up to 2
crore INR. The Tesla Model Y and Tesla Cybertruck are not going to launch in
India until next year.
Some cool features will make Tesla Model-3 the coolest car running on Indian roads.
Top Speed: 162 mph (260 km/h)
Weight: 4,065 lbs. (1843 kg)
Seating: 5 Adults
Range: 353 miles (568 km) in a single charge
Safety: The Tesla Model-3 is specially designed for safety.
The metal structure of the Tesla Model-3 is a combination of Aluminum and
Steel. The roof can bear the weight of two full-grown African elephants or four
times its mass as per tested in an experiment.
Autopilot: 360° cameras– Rear, Forward, and Side facing
cameras to provide maximum visibility.
RADAR: Forward-facing RADAR provides a long-range view of up
to 160 m.
Dashboard: The dashboard of Tesla Model-3 contains a 15-inch touchscreen display to
access all driver controls. You can use your smartphone as a key.
Conclusion: As Tesla has entered India, everyone welcomed Tesla with a warmness. Some welcomed Tesla with outstanding hilarious memes. Tesla CEO Elon Musk is a big fan of memes and often uploads memes himself on his Twitter handle. He was replaced by Jeff Bezos in Forbes World’s Richest Person after the share price of Tesla went down by nearly 8%. He lost approximately $14 billion fortune in a day and became the second-richest with a net worth of $176.2 billion. However, this won’t affect Tesla India Motors and Energy Pvt. Ltd. and we hope that Tesla India will grow more. India will benefit from Tesla and Tesla will benefit from India.
